Valentine’s Day is often synonymous with indulging in a little pampering and luxury, and Hong Kong is certainly equipped to cater for couples looking for that. The Grand Hyatt in Wan Chai is offering a ‘Celebrate Romance’ package for Hong Kong and Macau residents, which includes a one-night stay in an Executive Room with glittering views of Hong Kong’s skyline. There’s also Grand Club Lounge access for two people (per room), which includes breakfast, evening cocktails and all day champagne, plus a HK$2,500 spending credit to be used on food and beverage or Plateau Spa treatments. The spoiling continues with a complimentary cake, chocolates and strawberries and a bottle of champagne. Plus access to the outdoor heated pool and 24-hour fitness studio. The award-winning Grissini restaurant is also joining in the festivities with a special Valentine’s Day set menu.

2. The Fleming

If you and your partner are looking for a more boutique Valentine’s Day experience, the newly renovated hotel, The Fleming hits the spot. Inspired by Hong Kong’s Cross-Harbour Ferry, local design firm ‘A Work of Substance’ incorporated wooden floors, warm lighting and a colour palette of bottle green, navy blue and brass to give the hotel a feeling reminiscent of Hong Kong’s maritime culture. The Fleming is offering special room rates on their small rooms (at 21 square meters) through to their Extra Large rooms (at 36 square metres). Couples can enjoy a set dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Osteria Marzia (part of Black Sheep Restaurants), which features a Valentine’s Day set menu and special sweets by the chef for hotel guests only. Guests will take away a complimentary Valentine Gift Set.

3. Ovolo Southside


For the trendy art lovers out there, the Ovolo Southside could be a good option to share with your other half this Valentine’s Day. The hotel is Hong Kong’s first New York-style warehouse conversion design hotel, located in a former industrial building in Wong Chuk Hang, and art, they say, is in their DNA. In addition to the industrial-inspired décor and fittings, the hotel also features the regularly changing works of local and international artists and LED wall art. The Ovolo Southside is also getting into the celebratory spirit by offering couples a “Stay and Dine” or “Valentine’s Dinner @ Komune” offers. The “Stay and Dine” package includes special rates on their Corner and Corner Deluxe rooms complete with Valentine’s Day decorations and a free gift. All stays at the Ovolo Southside include free breakfast, happy hour drinks and in-room mini bar. Share some oysters, camembert, strawberries and other romantic culinary delights over a romantic set dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Komune.

4. Tai O Heritage Hotel

For a complete change of scene, immerse yourself in a little Hong Kong history and adventure with your special someone this Valentine’s Day. Tai O Heritage Hotel on Lantau Island was originally a police station built in 1902 to stave off pirates from Hong Kong’s shores, the Grade II historic building is now home to a nine-room boutique hotel. Complete with vintage 19th century architecture, historical features such as cannons, searchlight, corner turrets, dry goods store and cells have been restored and refurbished. The hotel’s glass-roofed restaurant, the Tai O Lookout, will also be featuring a special Valentine’s Day promotion.
