- Rinse the oysters thoroughly to get any gritty bits out.
- Put the halved papaya into a ceramic jar. Stuff the dates and the almonds into the cavity of the fruit.
- Bring the cup of water to a boil and pour over the stuffed papaya. Cover the ceramic jar with heavy duty foil or a tight fitted lid.
- Steam over a boiling pot of water for about 2-3 hours. Or until the papaya is tender and soft. (Be sure you put enough water in the pot for steaming, and check periodically to make sure it doesn’t run dry!)
That’s it! Eat directly by spooning the flesh and the stuffing from the papaya. Hmmmm……
