Singapore's Bee Cheng Hiang Renews Lease for Causeway Bay Prime Shop at 10% Lower Rent

Retail rents in core tourist districts continue to hit record lows. Singapore's meat jerky brand, Bee Cheng Hiang, has renewed its lease for a prime shop at the ground floor of Ying Kong Mansion, 2-6 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay.

This shop, known for its prominent three-sided corner layout, has been rented by the brand for 17 years.

The new lease, set to begin later this year, comes with a monthly rent of HK$360,000—10% lower than the previous lease and a significant 58% drop from its peak rental price.
The shop occupies approximately 300 square feet and benefits from a three-sided corner location, offering high visibility to foot traffic in one of Hong Kong’s busiest shopping districts.

Despite its prime location, the rent reduction reflects the ongoing challenges faced by the retail market, particularly in tourist-heavy areas, as landlords adjust to new market conditions.
