Hong Kong's Wen Wei Po (Reporter Ngan Lun Lok) Hong Kong hotel room have appeared shortage,there are many consortia have changed the residential lands into the development of hotel in order to gain profits. New cases from a row of old buildings in Tai Hang Village Street,although the lands are belong to 'Residential ( Group A)',but the consortium still apply to the Board to provide a reconstruction of the hotel 's 72 rooms.In addition,'the king of shops'Tang Shing Bo also re- apply for the Cheung Sha Wan Cheuk Wing commercial buildings changed into hotels-use.
A row of old buildings which located in No. 53 to No. 58 Village Street,Tai Hang, a site area of 2,421 feet,zoning as 'Residential (Group A)',but the consortium has no plans to follow,after the acquisition intends to rebuild into a hotel,submitted the applications to the Town Planning Board,12 times redeveloped into a 19 -storey hotel with 72 rooms.
According to the application documents show that these old buildings now are held by Shun Heung company,Director of the Company including Huen Bao Wa,Lo Tai Hang,they have several occasions for the Henderson Land acquisitions reconstruction projects.

On the other hand,'The King of Shpos'Tang Shing Bo who held a whole commercial building which located in No. 42A Wing Hong Street,Cheung Sha Wan and submitted applications to the TPB again for the whole block converted into a 22-storey hotel with more than 132 rooms.It is reported that a site area of 3,540 feet,involving approximately 38,763 feet of floor.
YOHO Hotel in Yuen Long have reduced the supply
In addition,SHKP also plans to build a 37-storey hotel in the Yuen Long YOHO MIDTOWN Phase 2 site 2a,had applied to the TPB last March which will offer 292 rooms,but the project also includes the adjacent area of 11,517 ft.'Government, Institution or Community' land,originally intended to build an eight-storey educational institutions/schools and hotel on the parcel of land for the community,providing 64 room,bringing the total room supply up to 356 .
However,due to the project application relates to the community sites,so it is reducing the chance by TPB,SHKP subsequently withdrew the application and re-submitted the applications recently,except for removing the community land,the quantity of 2a sites increased from 292 rooms to 324 rooms,bringing the total supply of rooms decreased by 9 %.
The Asia Standard planned the residential project in Hung Shui Kiu for years,due to the fact that it have added two new lands into sites,so it cause the site area of a slight increase of 1.08% to 110,800 feet,the major increase in commercial floor areas,increased by 32.5% to 34,230 feet,residential floor area decrease slightly,so the number is reduced from 935 units to 943 units.In addition,the former chairman of Chinese Estates Holdings Limited Lau Luen Hung held the site which located in No.3 of Deep Water Bay Road,there have a mysterious foreign company have applied for reducing the height in February this year,but does not accepted by the Planning Department and it is believed that it will not pass through the TPB finally.
