Things to Know Before Moving into Kwun Tong:

New Development

The Kwun Tong Town Centre Redevelopment Project comes with a new development, which will be constructed in two phases offering around 2,000 one- to four-bedroom units. The first phase is expected to be available for sale in the third quarter of this year. The government has also announced that later this year, two plots of land in Kwun Tong will be made available for housing development, this is situated just off Anderson Road.

Minibuses

Housing estates in and around the Sau Mau Ping area are rather a distance away from the town centre, so residents rely on minibuses to connect to the Kwun Tong MTR station. Ten minibus routes service the entire district, running to and from Yau Tong, Lam Tin, Ngau Tau Kok, Lei Yue Mun and more; several more services connect Kwun Tong to the rest of Kowloon and the New Territories. Red minibuses will also take you from Kwun Tong all the way to Kennedy Town at the far end of Hong Kong Island, via the Wan Chai and Central districts; the terminus stop for these minibuses can be found on Yee On Street. The minibus terminus can be found at Tung Yan Street and Kwun Tong Ferry Pier.

School Net

The area belongs to Primary School Net 48, which includes Our Lady of China Catholic Primary School, The Mission Covenant Church Holm Glad Primary School and Lok Sin Tong Yeung Chung Ming Primary School. Its Secondary School Net belongs to the Kwun Tong District, with Sing Yin Secondary School, Leung Shek Chee College and Kwun Tong Maryknoll College. International schools in the district include Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, Mills International Preschool and Kellett School Kowloon Bay.
