If you are an expat living with your family in the New Territories, you are in luck when it comes to finding the appropriate international school for your children of school age.

With more than 20 international schools for students of primary and secondary levels, you will have no trouble finding a suitable school for your child whether you live in Shatin, Sai Kung, Tuen Mun or Discovery Bay.

When picking an international school for your child or children, the first criterion should be the curriculum. Discovery Bay International School (DBIS)

Harrow International School Hong Kong

Part of the prestigious and historical Harrow School of United Kingdom, whose alumni include Winston Churchill and Lord Byron, Harrow International School Hong Kong is the most recent addition of international school in Hong Kong. Founded in 2012, the Tuen Mun school is divided into The Lower and The Upper Schools, enrolling students from K1 to Y13. It offers a UK curriculum with IGCSE and A/AS-level and languages of instruction include English, Mandarin, French and Spanish.

Hong Kong Academy (HKA) 

As a co-educational day school for students aged 3 – 18, HKA offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes. The school practises small class sizes and a low student-teacher ratio, and students are given the option to qualify for the HKA Diploma and/or a mix of Diploma Certificates or a full IB Diploma.

Mount Kelly International School (MKIS)

Scheduled to open in September 2017, Mount Kelly will be Hong Kong’s first British Preparatory School. The school curriculum will be based on the National Curriculum for England and has announced its initial enrolment plan to offer a total of 360 spots to Year 1 to 4 students prior to its opening.
