Where to Charge Your Electric Car in Hong Kong

Coined the ‘beacon city’ for electric cars by Elon Musk, Hong Kong has 5289 electric vehicles (EVs) on the road as at end of April 2016 with 1,300 public charging facilities scattered across shopping malls, commercial buildings and government complexes.

Why are electric cars so popular in Hong Kong? A major factor is that the government is offering a waiver of first registration tax until the end of March 2017 for individuals, and enterprises are allowed 100% profits tax deduction for the capital expenditure in the first year of procurement.

From an environmental standpoint, electric vehicles have no tailpipe emissions, thus improving roadside air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

For those who have bought an electric car, I guess the biggest pain you have is locating a charger, here is a list of districts with the most EV chargers.
