Minotti: Creed
Long-time Minotti collaborator Rodolfo Dordoni launched Creed at the Milan Furniture Fair this year for the Italian luxury furniture company. With its tapering lines, the bed is built upon a 17 cm high base with pocket springs and Comfort H 25 mattress to help ease you into slumber land. The headboard envelopes your head and shoulders, and is accentuated by fine details that allude to its classical tailoring and contemporary flair. Meticulous attention abounds such as in the 45-degree joints evident in the footboard and stitching that embellishes the head and footboards. Creed appears to levitate, as it rests on metal blades finished in a glossy pewter coloured finish.

Bonaldo: Basket
Designed by Mauro Lipparini for Italian company Bonaldo, the Basket collection of beds gets its name from the curving padded headboard that wraps around its top to nestle sleepers in a cosy cocoon. The upholstered headboard is scaled to let you read or work sitting up against a comfortable backrest. The Basket Plus version comes with elegant pleats on a solid fabric base, while the Basket Air refers to the tiny metal feet that give the bed lightness. They are available in double, queen and king sizes, with fully removable fabric or leather upholstery covers. The feet come in a choice of six colours painted on the metal.

Circu: Fantasy Air Balloon
For any little princess who wants to float away among the clouds just like in the Pixar movie Up, Circu’s Fantasy Air Balloon will make her dreams come true. The Portuguese company’s limited edition bed can be converted into a sofa, and features a basket-like base comprised of traditional weaving techniques against a wood frame with a white lacquer finish. Pull out drawers allow for the handy storage of pillows, blankets and cushions. The balloon top is upholstered in synthetic fur to give it a light, fluffy appearance and is trimmed with gold leaf. The rope ties are handmade and feature gold metallic details. The bed’s internal light and sound system allows for choice of music and light effects, all via a mobile app.

Indigo Living: Soho
Newly launched for the summer is Indigo Living’s Soho Upholstered Panel Deep Storage Bed, specifically designed for Hong Kong’s pint size bedrooms. At 118 cm or nearly four feet high, the bed is elevated to allow for the maximum amount of storage in its built-in base. Soho’s unique design allows the storage to be accessible from the rear or the side, depending on the constraints of the room it will furnish. With its fabric upholstered headboard tufted with a central row of elegant buttons, Soho’s rich walnut veneer grain will add warmth to a bedroom’s décor.
