1. The Peak
The Peak is considered to be the most exclusive and most expensive residential area in Hong Kong. Most accommodations enjoy excellent views over Aberdeen or the harbour, the outlying islands or green views, and offers easy access to Central via the Peak Tram and public transport.
Accommodation ranges from up-market low-rise apartments - all buildings are restricted in height - to townhouses and detached houses in small developments. Most blocks of flats have communal facilities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts or gymnasium. Peak residents can enjoy exquisite harbour or south-island sea views and cooler summer temperatures with evening breezes. The environment is green with many pleasant walks and trails.

2. Mid-Levels Central
Closer to the city, the Mid-Levels area is popular with expats. It consists of a band of residential developments just south of Central, extending to the middle slopes of the Peak. Due to its convenient access to Central and Causeway Bay, this area has always been very popular with the expat community.
Mid-Levels Central is city-living in predominantly high-rise accommodations in winding and hilly roads surrounded by trees. Although the area is densely populated, the highly secure complexes guarantee quality living. Apartments are generally airy, spacious and fully fitted with fixtures. Lower complexes normally have views of neighbouring buildings and the city, while higher floors may have Victoria Harbour or lush-green views. Some developments higher up on the hill may also get a glimpse of the Peak.

3. Repulse Bay
This is one of the most sought-after areas of Hong Kong among expatriates. It has a distinctly resort-like atmosphere. The area boasts a combination of luxury high-rises and townhouses, many with commanding views over the bay and the South China Sea and beyond.
Expatriates with young families often choose Repulse Bay because of the clean air, outdoor space for the children, and close proximity to the Hong Kong International School's junior and senior facilities.
Well-stocked supermarkets are close by. Commuting time to Central is approximately 25 minutes by taxi or car, and 35 minutes by bus to Central.

8. Sai Kung
On the Kowloon Peninsula, Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay are also very popular among the expat community. Sai Kung, once only a tiny fishing village, is a thriving town with a busy waterfront. Much of the town retains its peaceful and tranquil setting. Sai Kung is a low-density recreational and residential area. Lots of greenery and excellent scenery characterise this region. Buildings here are mainly low-rise.
The majority of the housing in Sai Kung / Clear Water Bay is based on villas, apartments and townhouses. Due to planning restrictions, there are very few high-rise blocks. In general, the area enjoys larger housing than other parts of Hong Kong with lock-up garages, swimming pools, gardens and pleasant scenery.
